This decision on DNA could affect the procedure on how Maryland solves cases involving convicts. My opinion on this is DNA can be credible evidence in a crime but it can also be misleading. The MD court of Appeals is saying that it is unconstitutional to take DNA samples of charged criminals who haven't been convicted yet. They said that it was a violation of the 4th amendment because the government did not have a warrant or proper cause to take their DNA samples. This decision could affect future arrests in MD by causing police officers to lose skill in finding criminals because instead of putting their training to good use they just look the person up on their data base and take them in. I think that they shouldn't do the DNA samples because it is violating that person's right to privacy and if they used tech to get everyone there will one day be that one person that will end up evading the system and the only way to get them is to reprehend them physically. However because they did everything by computer they may not have the proper manpower to do it safely and properly.
