I think the idea of the world ending at the end of this year was brought to us to soon for people to really be worried about the world ending. The rumor of 2012 was brought to us in 2010. PeoPle went crazy about it the first few months they even made a movie about it but the long lay off between 2010 and 2012 gave people a chance to do research or just fOrget about it in general. Rumors of the world ending got people taking risks and doing things they never thought they would do. I think the world won't end on December 21st 2012 or any time in our lifetime I believe god has it planned when he will destroy his creation and I do t think anytime soon.

I think peoele is getting the idea that the world is goint to end. I say becuase of the move they made and how the weather is keep changing. I think the world is goin not goin to end unless God tell us it is that how i think.

People are making all types of profits from this belief, some are making books,movies,countdown clocks, have websites and etc. Even NASA is contacted often about the end of the world,questioning their lives. Many believe there will be a doomsday on December 21,2012 and the Mexico tourism industry believes that 52 million will visit places like Quintana Roo, Campeche, Chiapas, and Yucatan. And other events are supposed to happen this day. I believe people did not really take the rumor of the the world ending serious at first but then the story of the Mayans came into play. So some people would think that is some kind of proof that 2012 will me the apocalypse. Their facts are also false because the Mayans didn't predict 2012 was the end that was just when their calender ended. Many people are profiting from this theory. Some are selling 2012 survival kits & reserving place for "doomsday proof bunkers". I however don't believe in this theory and even if it was to happen i think there is no point of spending the remainder of your life worrying about it. Just enjoy life and don't feed into all the rumors.

I think people think the world is going to end because of crazy weather changes, global warming, movies (2012) and the big fact that the Mayan calendar ends in 2012. People are profiting from this because they make movies/shows all about the end of the world. Poeple are also Opportunistic Internet retailers that are selling 2012 survival kits, insurance policies, and reserved seating in "doomsday-proof" bunkers. Theorists believe the world will end this year have come up with various scenarios for global catastrophe: massive earthquakes and tsunamis, the eruption of a supervolcano, and the sudden reversal of the earth's poles. My opinon is that it is very strange that all of these global disaters are happening now and they are very rare but I dont think the world is going to end. only God knows when the world will end. Maybe the reason people believe the world is going to end soon because of not only physical diasters like earthquakes, etc. but maybe just because of society, and global warming. We've barely gotten any snow this winter at all. Or maybe even because of the economy with the bad recession and low jobs. What i think about this artical is that people this day in age would belive any thing that media make sells on and i do not belive that world will came to an end because we never know. But some people would be saying that science will prove that the world will came to an end and some people have proven science wrong. I also think that it has something to with power if u can trick someone into doing something or even beliveing you will have full control.

I am very tired of hearing the world is going to end this year. The mayans probably didn't finished the calander or something. Only God knows whrn you are going to die and I know that i am NOT going to die on that day. I hope that the people that had made book on this and movie are proven wrong because I wouldn't support a diaster likr that. I don't know why people believe in things like this because alot of people will die if this happen (God forbid).
The Mayans may have predicted the end of the world due to there understandings of astronomy. However what is qualified as the end can always be interpreted differently. It could be age of a new enlightenment, or something new because every ending can have a new beginning. So I do not thing everyone will die, but some form of event will happen.
The world was suppose to end in 2000,6-6-06 and lets not forget about the stunts they tried to pull last year(May 6pm 2011) now you want me to believe its going to end this year? Its crazy how some people can come up with any random thought and people actually believe it. I think it's absurd to believe that man can predict when the world is going to end let alone an exact time and day we can't even accurately predict the weather so who can we predict the end of the world. The Mayans were really smart for their time period but we should not live our lives based on the beliefs of a group of people who had some barbaric rituals. I think if you believe the world is ending this year your a fool. Scientist can make predictions about the world ending but nobody knows if their predictions will come true. I'm a believer in God and I feel as though he and only he knows when the world is ending but I know for others they feel different I don't know exactly why but I know some get rapped up all into to the media.
