Extra Credit Project - Due June 5th

Below are the directions for a project that can be completed or extra credit.  If you would like to complete this assignment you must have it completed and submitted no later than June 5th

Extra Credit Project

Objective: Students will be able to review all material learned over the course of the year in order to demonstrate complete knowledge of the content.

Assignment: To write a middle school level book that incorporates all of the key concepts of Local, State, and National Government using the provided outline.

• All assignments must be typed, times new roman, size 12 font unless otherwise approved by the teacher.
• Each chapter must have at least 3 illustrations. Illustrations may be drawn or found online but they must pertain to the information that is given on that page.
• The book must have a cover page that gives the name of the book, the author (you), and an illustration.
• TUse the list below to make sure you cover all required topics. Almost every topic should be its own chapter but you may combine some topics and put 2 in one chapter.
• Remember – plagiarizing from the book or internet will result in failure of the project. You may use your notes and your text book to help you find the information that you need.

Topics to Include:

• 4 types of governments name and explain
• 4 types of economies name and explain
• 3-5 important documents in U.S. and explanation of why they are important
• 6 Principles of gov (sep. of powers, checks and balances, etc.)
• Each of the branches, what jobs are in each branch, AND explanations of their jobs/what powers they use
• How a bill becomes a law
• Implied vs expressed powers – define and examples
• Great 8 court cases – what they were and why they were important
• Fiscal Policy and the business cycle
• Monetary policy and the 3 indicators
