1. The percentage of people that do not get sick leave in America is approximately 40%, the other 60% is provided with sick leave.
2. More small businesses are against sick leave because the economy is terrible already, so with employees getting paid sick leave, increases the business' ability to stay in afloat.
3. To be fair to the employees' rights, I do think companies should be forced to project a certain number of paid sick days because a person can never fully prevent themselves from getting ill.

i think americans should get a paid sick leave based of deditcation to the job and effort.
many get sick from working to hard or even other things like stress or bad weather.depending on the worker,its most likely not their choice to miss work for being sick.they may actually decide to go in to work instead of taking off because they may need the money. 40% of workers do not get sick leave, the other 60% is provided with sick leave.
I dont agree that only 40% of workers should not receive pay when they are sick, because you have a whole lot of other people that are I mean isnt that a ten commandment or a right or something. Everone was made equally, so why arent people getting treated like their equal. I think that businesses are against sick leave, because they always think you still have the ability to do some work and you just using it as an exscuse to not come into work, or, they dont have the money to pay everyone because they arent getting the money they need to pay all the employee. i dont think that a sick person should get a timelimit as to how long they can stay out of work, because what if they reach the deadline come into work still sick and its very contagious.

I believe that americans Deserve to be paid on there day sick,because most people that don't get paid on a day sick do not want to make time for they're sick day.If more americans was getting payed on they're day sick they would put more effort in working
I believe Americans should get paid sick leave because for any reason you are really ill and have to be hospitalized you may need the money to pay for your stay. I say Americans should also get paid sick leave because even though your sick and can't attend work you still have to support yourself and your family. It's only fair. Americans/citizens should not be penalized because of their illness.

People are a against this because they think people abuse the sick days they have as it is, they probably see that the workers will never come to work when needed. I think it should depend on how often workes leave and their absence record should be monitered to decide whether they get a sick leave.

82 percent of restaurant workers and 64 percent of retail employees don't have sick leave. Some people call in sick on Mondays and Fridays becuase they don't feel like coming in. Now because of that businesses see paid sick leave as pay to stay in your house to go to sleep. If it don't change businesses will have to cut back in other areas, whether it's health care, salaries, or even new hires. Yes because it is only fair to both of the sides.

I as a future Worker (or something)deserve paid leave! Why? Because people get sick (or have allergies) that can sometimes keep them from focusing on work and they won't be able to get their job done and then get fired... for being unable to work. Do you want that?! People get sick, they need to stay home! They don't control the sickness (unless they fake it) so why not just pay'em and get it over with.
Ithink people deserve how many sick days as they need, because you never know how many your gonna need but I think they should give people 30 sick days.

I believe that businesses don't want to give them out is so if people want to fake being sick so that way they can take a day off and get paid for it. I believe that certain businesses should provide sick leave. Because this way if someone is really sick then they can stay home and get better so that way they wont get other workers sick. And i think the number of days they should get off are 2-3 days tops.
I think that people should be able to get paid and have a sick leave if you are REALLY sick . I say this because most people do not want a sick person in the office spreading germs and making it unsafe for everyone in the office . Especially if the person has the flu or a illness that can spread and cause a dramatic lost in workers and that can affect the business and the rate at which things can get done .
I think companies are against people having sick leave because they might over use is if they have one little symptom of being sick. Like for example I was watching this show and a student unscrewed the bolts in the teacher chair and when she sat down she fell. so she got up and said i get a paid vacation or break because of injury so she wouldn't hvae to work. So I think people would might try to do that. I don't think they should enforce that but just like keep there absences to a minimum.

I think a worker should only be paid for a sick day if it is for along period of let's say between a week or 2 weeks just so that person can still have an income coming in so they can support them selves and their family while their sick. I think if you have a common cold or a stomach ache etc you should have to go to work or atleat stay home without pay. Let's say a worker does not feel like working one day he can just lie and say he has a cold and he has to stay home and he knows he is getting paid for that day that's why I think you should cut off sick pay unless the person is perfusaly sick.
When you think about the U.S trying to help their citizens then yes, the paid sick leave is awesome. But we also have to understand that businesses lose money like that. Why should someone pay you just because your sick all of the sudden ? I believe should receive paid days when they have the doctors verify that the person has a serious people. Plus you can't really do anything when your sick so I really don't see the problem it's just common since.
