Would you guys support this law? Do you think it is a good way to raise money for the county? What can people do to avoid this tax?

This just looks more like a way to get extra money out of tax payers then to actual help.I doubt that anyone will mind it though. At least untill they start raising this tax even higher. What's stoping them from raising it? I feel like this will make consumers slowly wish that they should just carry there food and items to there car instead of carring them in a bag.

i don't think that i will support this law because we are in a recession ,the economy is bad and it maybe just cents but now these days i have seen people desperate for money or even cents, it might be a good way to raise money for the county. what people can do to avoid this tax is to recycle more and to stop littering.

I don't support this law because te government is always Tryin to find ways to use more money. We need to learn how to save money, especially now because of how the economy is.

I dont support this law because the government is always talking about how they dont have no money and yet they still trying to find ways to make money by robbing the country like with all these hiden speeding and red light camaras and taxing on plastic bags. They government is support to help us not try and take ur money.

I suppose this would be a good way to raise money for the county so long as it doesn't reach excessive amounts. Most people don't recycle, which would probably be the only of avoiding this law.Since its only a few cents I wouldn't mind supporting the law.

I support this law, only because of what the tax revenue would go to, like cleaning up the river. However, the ways to avoid the law, is what makes the law a bad way to raise money for the county. Reusable non-plastic bags for groceries and not asking for a bag for small things are ways that avoid the law completely.

This tax will never fly in PG County. Montgomery County probably didn't even put a fight because they can afford it. We can't. And one thing this county is known for is rallying when we don't support a proposed law. Such as when the council tried to send illegal immigrants' children to college, but being funded by the state and taxpayers. We shot that down so fast most people didn't even hear of it. So I'm not frightful at all. I would not support this law, it's bad enough we have the speed cameras (which are all about profit as opposed to safety). There are various other ways to raise money for the county.

-P.S: you should do a post on the speed cameras.

i think that the state should not have the right for now to reject this law seeing as bad as these bags are affecting our world. i think that people should sign up to the stores they visist t get store bags for them to keep and in the long run down the years this law may be relinquished over time to states that want it rremoved.
