What do you guys think about TESTING? Almost every state has a test that their kids take that is just like the MSA/HSA that we have here. This article tells you about a cheating scandal that took place in Atlanta. There, the teachers get paid more if the kids pass and less if they don't. Do you think this is a good idea, for teacher pay to be based on how well the kids do? Is this fair to the teachers and/or kids? How can this be helpful? How can it be harmful?

This one is about schools needing improvement. Everyone knows that our schools are not doing as well as schools in other countries, but no one can agree on how to FIX the problem! The U.S. argues that the statistics are skewed because in other countries not everyone gets to go to school. Kids have pass tests and get accepted to get into high school. What is your solution?? In my opinoin I think it is a bad idea to pay teachers based on how well thier students do on tests. By regulating pay based on test scores they motivate the teachers in the wrong way. If the teachers only want the students to do well they mighgt resort to cheating to make sure the kids do well. They wont give the proper time and effort to teaching like they're supposed to. I agree with what the secretary of education said it really cheats the children.

I am against teachers being paid based on how well their students do on their test. Teachers really have no control on if a student focuses and does well on their test. This has no effect on students but it is not fair to the teachers. Say a kid takes his test while he is tired and really hasnt payed attention all year. His teacher will be payed less for his failure. This could be helpful because this will force teachers to work harder and make sure each student understand things. This could be harmful because teachers will do anything to make sure their students do well on their test, even cheat.

Domonique Moore (2-a) I think this situation have a Pro and a Con. Its positive because it was helpful for the kids and they were looking out for the kids and didint want them to fail. But its also negative because the teachers got caught and i think there dumb because they made it so obvious its okay to improve step by step but were all human and no one can show that much growth in any area in a couple of weeks I find that impossible . In my opinion its a teachers job to teach and a students job to learn. We all have to be responsible for ourselves if students aren't meeting the requirements to pass a test then someones job isn't being done.

This particular case is so outrageous. I never would have thought teachers consider "MONEY" over the esential importance of "EDUCATION".How would you know if the student is progressing? You are setting them up for utter failure for college and life. To literally correct a students answers to get a higher salary shows that these teachers are negligent of students education. There actions are an affront to their own self and education they recieved. The educational system is already corrupt and should not suffer further ignominy. A satisfactory eduction is hard to come by these days and the students should not be cheated out of it.

First I think testing is a good part of school because it allows the teachers to see where students are and how much students have learn. I don't agree with what the teachers did because that was cheating. I do think teachers should get paid more because teachers shape our futures .
Testing is necessary in schools only to measure students know. I think teachers should be paid based on their teaching. I hate testing, it's boring and pointless to me. I believe that teachers should get paid more for students who pass. I say that because that means that the teachers are doing their job and helping the school. Obviously that's not the matter in this case. But about this whole scandal thing. I think those teachers and principles involved in the actions that took place for all these years should be ashamed of themselves. This can and probably is happening more around the world it's just not noticed so the school boards should do more as to looking at test and seeing how intelligent the students really are. Teachers shouldn't choose this career because of the income. I say that cause teachers aren't paid enough. They have to deal with all these ignorant immature childish students who choose not to learn and just make teachers go though hell. So they don't need to do it for the mullah it's probably a stressful job. They need to do it if they love teaching and helping young adults. If these teachers and principles did what they were suppose to do it would be no need of cheating. The principles need to address issues going on in the schools trying to insure that students are going to class being respectful and learning they also need to make sure the teachers are doing what they are suppose to do. If the teachers actually TEACH and help students with issues they have in class things will go smoothly and we'll have more scholars and all that can be done without cheating.

on the schools rools one I don't think it's right for the teachers pay to be based off of the students academic progresses, because this could encourage teachers to focus more on their paycheck as opposed to focussing on teaching and instilling good characteristics of the people men and women of the furture. every has a greedy streak and they might not think about the big picture. It could also make kids not understand as much i think it would be positive for the teachers but negative for the future.
